Strategic offsite
Kick-off & alignment - off to a good start
Some of the biggest challenges organisations typically face are implementing strategies and changes - to get everyone to join the journey. We help you take the first steps by aligning your vision and making it manageable and visible.
Through exercises and active learning, we initiate new ideas about the connection between behaviour, culture and strategic goals. We help crystalise the strategy into concrete actions and initiatives that you can take on as soon as you are back in the office.
Humans understand and anchor that understanding on a much deeper level through experience - when we use not only the head but also the body. It is a difference that in every way increases the ability to use new knowledge in practice, and gets you off to a good start.
The value of collaboration
Collaboration is an integral part of most people's lives. We do it without thinking. That does not mean we do it "the right way", though. A lot of the time we are on autopilot if we are not concious about it.
As people's skills become more and more specialised, collaboration in practice becomes more important than ever. But what exactly does that mean? And what is collaboration?
Collaboration is when a group of people come together and contribute with their expertise for the benefit of a common goal, project or mission. But not at the expense of themselves or at the expense of psychological safety, but for the best common result.
Why is collaboration important?
- It helps us solve problems
- Collaboration brings people (and organisations) closer together
- Collaboration helps people learn from each other
- It opens up new communication channels
- Collaboration increases morale and motivation across your organisation
- It supports employee retention
Active learning
“Experiential learning” is a learning process where we “learn by doing” and reflect on the experience. Experiential learning activities are a cycle where we do practical experiments, reflect, form a hypothesis and then experiment again. The experiments can be indoors or outdoors, involving rafts or Lego bricks and anything in between. What it is is not central to learning, for learning comes from doing something and then reflect on what one has done.
Active learning promotes interdisciplinary learning, commitment, collaboration, behavioural understanding, cultural awareness, leadership and professional and intellectual skills.
Learning that is considered “experiential” includes the following elements:
- Reflection, critical analysis and perspective
- Opportunities to take initiative, make decisions and be accountable for the results
- Opportunities to engage intellectually, creatively, emotionally, socially or physically
- A designed learning experience that includes the opportunity to learn from natural consequences, mistakes and successes
